I have made my own rust server and when I tried to install Umod/Oxide it did not work. I have tried multiple times not succeeding once. When I run the command "oxide.version" the console does not see it as a command. if someone could help me install it that would be great.

That would imply that something with your setup is uninstalling Oxide, likely your startup script that is probably running SteamCMD each start.
