As far as I can recollect they game devs made the damage to distance more realistic, Which means the further away you are the less damage you will get from a projectile. Why should you expect get the same result from a projectile when standing 20m away from a target as you would 300m away ?

But it anyways must deal 5-10 damage

Someone is telling me that over 200m damage doesn't always register. They used 4 mags, hits register (I have hiticon on my server), but damage just won't go down. They say if the target is running they die every time.

But when I dropped back to 300+ meters with the 8x scope and L96 I was pumping boar full of bullets and nothing was happening. I have the HitIcon plugin and it's showing -32 as if the boar is losing 32 health, but nothing.

Is this something with the drawing distance?

Are you able to shoot anything at a distance where you can see the object via the 8x scope, but not without it?

The  longest distance i or other players have shot anything that  has been shown on console is 357m but those are rare as there is a lot of mist/fog/snow on the map which means most people get a little closer for a shot with the 4x zoom as it is easier to use, you frequently lose the target on the 8x zoom with a bolti or L96 as you reload the chamber,

acebaby12 has about 18thou hours on and Upuranus about 8 thousand , so practise might make perfect

This has nothing to do with aim. I did more testing. I have a plugin on my server that gives you distance feedback when you land a shot. I'm pumping bullets into a boar over and over and it won't die. I'm about 200-250 meters away. i'm surly hitting it.

I see in my chat a player talked about being unable to kill a bear saying "seriously, just put 58 hv 5.56 rounds in him"

Question is, what the hell is causing that.

I unloaded all my plugins and I was able to kill a boar with a single shot at 313 meters. I guess I have some troubleshooting to do, but I still can't imagine what plugin is causing this.

After narrowing down and testing, I found the cause to be the Rideable Horse plugin. Enabled, I can't get above 260m as shooting any animal seems to do no damage, but disabled I can get 350m.

I've alerted the plugin author.
