Performance issue after installing some plugins
Hi guys and girls

Was wondering if someone could possibly help me
My server gets extremeply terable lag when the server does the following:

Calling 'OnTick' on 'RustIO v2.15.0' took 102ms

Calling 'OnEntityDeath' on 'RustIO v2.15.0' took 134ms

Calling 'OnUserChat' on 'BetterChat v5.0.19' took 771ms

It drops the framerate of the server to 1fps

Could anyone please advise me on how to avoid this in future as it causes lag and rubberbanding for a full 5 mins

Thanks in advnce

Hey!
Try uninstalling rust Io :P
Ok to be honest a lot of people who I have been working with were complaining about the performance of their server with rust io so I hope it should solve your problem
lol stupid question .... how do I uninstall it xD
The same way you installed it, AFAIK you should stop your server and delete it's DLL file

Is this a rented server or running from your own pc while you are playing the game on the same pc ?
Its a rented server , I can only access it from a control panel

I run a 50 slot server and am running 56 plugins at the minute included the ones you have quoted, after this update my fps is down to 50+  with the same amount of players on that you do,

Saved 60,577 ents,
You might need to upgrade your server with more memory, i only have 8gb

in the screenshot it only shows 1000 mb lol but I have 4 GB ram

See if you can afford another 4gb, it makes all the difference. Its the same with your pc , the more memory the better.
Are you using a 4000  size (which is the default on mine) map or more ?.
My map is 2800

With 2800 map and 50k entities you don't really need more than 4gb of ram (hopefully). Try uninstalling RUSTIO and see if it helps. Also shared hostings are braindead idea.

From the screenshots your servers ram is fine, you arent even using 1%.
Your 1fps is most likely caused by the enormous load rust.io puts on servers.
You entities are low too , so you are good to go, never create a new problem when there isnt any.
Old saying if its not broke dont fix it.

Also i cannot see any good reason any rust server needs to use rust.io, i do know some plugins "suggest" it, but even they do not Require it.
It's very heavy on resources, it's most likely where all your lag is coming from.

Delete rust.io and rock on.
It's most likely in your servers Oxide/Plugins folder also check oxide/config and oxide/data folder delete all traces of rust.io and lag no more.

Please explain why shared hostings are braindead, i have been renting a server now for over 4 years , why should i buy another pc and run the server from home when i can rent one and have no maintenance and any worries regarding being hacked, and the entities do not stay at 50k they will progress through the month, mine usually start at 28k and move up to 119k by the end of the wipe,
this is a quote regarding running your own server
I was hosting a test server for my mods on my PC where I would play about with them before i set them up on my actual hosted server. At max it had about 6 of my friends coming in and out and the lag issues were insane.

Plus I had to fuck about with dedicated IP address, server goes down on PC restarts. It's a shit way to host a map for all involved.
id agree, just rent a dedicated one, its probably cheaper. i tried running one on a 4790k, 1060 6gb, with 16gb ram and it would still lag with when pop went over 6-10. RustAdmin is a great way to access the server too, you have pretty much the same, if not more control where ever you end up getting your server from.

it is far less expensive to rent a server, unless you have high speed cable/fibre and an unlimited data plan and a very good server setup you will have more problems than you have now.

A lot of plugins use RustiO coords , Such as fancydrop, I have never had any lag problems running Rustio and 56 other plugins with 8gb ram on a hosted server, With 4gb I did and upgraded to 6gb but found that 8gb was just the right amount, I will upgrade to 16gb if i go to 100 slots but dont need it right now

I said literally ZERO words about hosting server from home (which is quite uncomfortable in most cases).
My general idea is that you have such a ridicolous level of control on the shared hosting. Literally "START" and "STOP" lol (exaggerating ofc, but its close to the truth).
Plus - not all, but REALLY big amount of shared hostings are unfair and won't give you resources you have paid for. (They are shared, so they share memory and CPU power between different server instances. Lags one - lags for every other on this machine.  As I said -  there are some providers which have this setup correctly and this wont happen.)
On the other hand - when you buy dedicated server or Virtual Dedicated Server - you have exact knowledge of what you've paid for, and you get it (most of the time, scammers could be anywhere). It gives you the full control about what is happening to the server, etc. It requires some brain usage, especially if you want to setup rust server on linux lol, so braindead person cant do that.
Is this explanation clear enough for you?
P.S. Please, avoid using profanity.
P.P.S. Who does not have unlimited data plan nowadays? I even have it on my phone.
P.P.P.S. If only you were just a little smarter, you'd understand you do not need to have sex about dedicated IP address (and with who? ISP? Router? Ethernet cable???), like every other software, RustDS does not require it. Only 1 port for game packets and another for rcon packets. Thats all. "4790k 1060 6gb 16gb ram elite champagne and all these rich guys stuff u kno " lags at 10 ppl online - have you tried NOT USING YOUR PC WHEN YOU HOST THE BLOODY SERVER ON IT?
