Hello!
On my server people cant research the new revolver.
Could any plugin be behind it and if so, where should i start looking / what to look for in the plugin text?

Have you fixed this? If so, let us know what happened and how you corrected it so other users who might experience similar issues can follow your footsteps.

If not:
I wouldn't think a plugin would be hiding the HC Revolver from being researched, unless you have one specifcally for research/workbench related functions. With the update to both your personal client, your server Steam client, and Oxide, the HC Revolver should have just automatically been added as an in-game item and availible for use. Those plugins would need updated too. For example, I am using CraftingController and it was not compatible with the HC Revolver until a plugin update was pushed shortly after Rust update release.

The newest update of Crafting Controller fixed the issue
But for your understanding, the update after force wipe did NOT fix the issue.
It was the latest update that came out in the morning today.
