Try restarting steam, this is usually a client side error

I've done it many times. I don't know what is causing the problem, can you please help?

I have had this error many, many times , usually when i time out (client side) and try to reconnect, The first attempt usually gives me that error so i then close the window and got back to server lists and click on my server and "join server" with no problem in reconnecting.
I have had the problem when first attempting to join the server but go back to the server menu and go from there.

It doesn't connect to my server in any way, my friend, it doesn't work. It's a server set up with remote desktop VDS, but it doesn't connect. The server appears to be open, it loads a little, it throws away instantly and it says Steam Auth Failed.
