I am trying not to complain about Umod.org as I know what it is like to support those who don't really contribute and only use. However, I do find the UMOD much less interactive and user friendly than the old Oxidemod.org website/forums. Seems that many plugins are just orphaned or at least there is no support. Which leads to the next whine, I have three servers and could spend all my time with support. Outdated, corrupted, need to be constantly tweaked mods, poor hosted services, etc. I feel like Rust is powered by an old inefficient engine and just way too client-side resource hungry. Maybe I am wrong and I truly speak from the perspective of a user (I have an embarassing 13,000 hrs in) and definitely not someone who has the ability or desire to tweak things for maximum output. I would be curious to see what sort of use the official servers are seeing in the past 6 months. I have seen a loyal cast of players but not many new users really, not like after the big updates in 2015/16 etc. I would like to hear other server owner/moderators opinions.
Rust - Rant <sorry>Not An Issue
from my point of view, the developers are doing a good job with these updates and changes.
There are many new players joining the game, good servers stay populated for longer time not as before and etc.
The only problem or issue is, that i wish if there is a better tools or methodes to detect players who use aimbots or ESPs, or even if there is a faster way to contact EAC/FacePunch to check a specific player as a "server owner".
Really want to know how do they manage the official servers and what tools they use or something that help the other community servers.

Oxide is busy migrating from oxidemod.org to uMod.org. The whole framework itself is going to be renamed to umod and is going to be change dramatically and this causes a delay because there is a lot to migrate, update and maintain. You forget we are avarage people. Modding the game is just a hobby. We have jobs and families. The site itself isn't even done yet.
As for the hosting. I've noticed a large amount of hosting providers like gameservers that offers really poor support and limited access. Remember choosing what host is your doing. There are a lot of great hosts out there. All you need is a dedicated server or VPS. However this is more expensive than something like gameservers.
This is my opinion however.

In response to Tatra813 ():I am trying not to complain about Umod.org as I know what it is like to support those who don't real...
1. Umod is new, there are many users, who used oxidemod.org but don't even know about umod yet. (However, I regret Umod.org does not have archives of atleast most popular threads from oxide).
2.Rust uses Unity, which is one of worlds most supported and heavily developed engines, it's not old nor inefficient. It is normal for a game which allows you to play on servers with 200 people and 100k+ dynamic entities to utilize 10 gigs of RAM. I'd understand You, if this post was atleast 2 years ago, when Rust had some memory leak and hardware utilizstion issues, but it is absent now.
3. Game mostly grow it's playerbase not of big updates, but from discounts.

I find the support for plugins is much the same as it was with Oxide.org the only difference is that you dont have a whole lot of pages you can go back through to get examples (and maybe a "solve") of other players/server owners experiences and problems.
I have the same "not responding" to posted thread from a few plugins but that is exactly the response i got when it was through oxide,
It will be a while before everything is migrated over to Umod so will wait and see what happens then, in the meantime put up with the minor problems and be grateful for the plugins that work 100% and the amount of work that goes into them that we dont have to do, We just get the benefit.

Oxide forums were around a lot longer than Umod forums have been and as such, I miss the pages and pages of posts for each plugin. As @pookins said, you could often go back through the posts for a particular plugin and find a fix that worked for your current issue. That said though, these forums will end up with that wealth of information, you just have to give it time.
