Unable to get permissions groups to add playersSolved
Hi, I tried searching for this topic without luck.
I have a fresh install of oxide and rust on a new server and have tried a few times to add myself to the admin group because the admin group shows that there are currently no players in that group. I have already added myself as owner to the server and can use console commands as well as use rcon just fine. I have tried to use the following command 'oxide.playergroup add SergeantSeven admin' but i get an echo in green letters in the console and nothing else happens. When using 'oxide.show group admin' it gives me the list of permissions for the group and says there are no players currently in group.

What am I doing wrong or is this a bug? I can't use any of the plugins that have permissions in the admin group where I should be able to use them. I could add individual permissions but that would be tedious for every admin and mod on my server.

Also, using the command:

'oxide.show player SergeantSeven'

Just returns these two lines.

Usage: oxide.show <groups|perms></groups|perms>

Usage: oxide.show

oddly enough, using PermissionsManager v0.0.9 by Steenamaroo I can set permissions by using the in chat commands /perms group admin. So obviously I have permissions for permissions manager but no other plugins such as vanish or godmode.
The console commands you were using are not correct for the Oxide build you are using.

oxide.show group admin
oxide.show user SergeantSeven
oxide.usergroup add SergeantSeven

Also, if you are set as ownerid with Rust, you are automatically added to the 'admin' group in Oxide on connect.
The docs page needs to be updated then because those are the commands that I found in the docs.

EDIT: I tried findin the docs page that showed those commands but its gone now. IDK.

Can't blame me for not knowing the correct commands when the instructions were obsolete.

But thanks for the information, I messed around with it a bit more after posting and logged in and out a few times and it stared working.

The commands were updated for uMod, but yes, I will be adding a note of what to use for Oxide.

This change is confusing, but I understand the need to move to a better platform. Is uMod really going to be that different from Oxide? and when are we going to see the change to uMod?

I'm pretty sure that Docs change wasn't meant to be done yet, but i understand the confusion. There was a lot of complications with the old domain names not being under our control, which was a lot of why we moved originally. We are working to get those domain names into our hands, but we decided long ago that the move to uMod would give us a more appropriate name and home.

As far as the changes go, yes, there will be a lot of differences over time, a lot of which are part of this site itself. There's a lot to do and mainly just two people working on everything right now.
