Ive been looking around for a while and found this server hosting provider: https://www.ikoula.com/en/dedicated-server#starter
I could be wrong but their prices seem very good.
One of their relatively cheap dedicated servers has an i7 9700K which I feel must be really good for hosting many rust servers since rust is single-threaded?
Am I wrong?
And has anyone used this site before?
Ps: I am not an expert at all so don't come after me if I'm wrong.
Server hosting provider legit?
You would indeed be able to run multiple servers with that package and it looks pretty legit. The problem you have is that this is a normal host geared towards websites, not game servers. This means that you will be without DDoS protection. The game server-specific hosts have game server-specific DDoS protection.

Ahhh. Ive been looking around and I can't seem to find any company that is providing this, except cloudflare but I think theyd be too expensive. And they don't show the price anywhere. Is anyone actually providing this?
No company provides this as a separate package for a price you're looking for. Cloudflare provide free DDoS protection for websites, but that doesn't work for game servers. Their game server protection is "apply for price", in other words way out of your league. The only way you will be able to feasibly get DDoS protection is to get specialised game server hosting from the likes of OVH etc.

Your other option is to throw caution to the wind and just go ahead without DDoS protection and see how long you can last. I hosted for about 3 years on a box under my desk before I succumbed to this and was forced to host "properly" :)

Thanks for the answer! One more question tho. What about the other ovh dedicated servers besides the game ones? They wont provide ddos protection for rust because it isn't specialized then?
