Rust server hardware requirements

So I want to start a Solo/Duo/Trio server that should be ready for up to 250 players, that wipes weekly.
I researched some problems that may cause massive FPS drops. Are those still a problem?:

  1. Lag on server save. Do I need to use a m2 nvme ssd or is a "normal" ssd enough that those lags doesn't happen?
  2. Too much entities (especially caused by the plugin FurnaceSplitter) still a problem (weekly wipe)?
  3. What minimal bandwith should the internet connection have?
  4. Should I look for a specific processor? Intel Xeon/i9 or AMD?
  5. Is the single core performance of the processor the most deciting factor for a rust server performance?
Maybe some of you that have a server running can just post their hardware and the usage of that at the peak playercount.

I got two pretty good looking offers from netcup.
1. Offer for 14€/month
  • AMD EPYC™ 7702
  • 16 GB DDR4 RAM (ECC)
  • 4 dedicated cores
  • 320 GB SSD
2. Offer for 27€/month
  • AMD EPYC™ 7702
  • 32 GB DDR4 RAM (ECC)
  • 6 dedicated cores
  • 800 GB SSD

1. It is highly advised to use SSD.
2. Entities shouldn't be caused by plugins, otherwise that's a bug and create a thread on one's page. But in general it is normal for high rate servers to have many entities and such.
3. It is preferable to have at least 100 Mbps and higher + protection.
4. Something with high single threaded code performance, because most of the code is single threaded, a little bit could use only second thread and the very little rest - other threads.

7702 should be able to handle 100-200 players, I'd expect it to.

For a single Rust server generally 8-10 GB RAM is enough, and 2 physical cores (4 threads if HT). Around 10-20 GBs of disk space.
People also barely use ECC here so doubt you'll need it.

Make sure you have good DDOS protection that is Rust specific (not just something simple), otherwise your server could be taken down eh.

Thanks for your answer!
I found a better offer:
https://www.hetzner.com/de/dedicated-rootserver/ax41-nvme

They hopefully have a good ddos protection. But propably not rust specific. What do I need to look for or what hoster could you recommend?

OVH for something cheaper (Game ones for game protection IIRC), GSK and resellers, GMC
