Hello,
I ask for your help because I have a problem with my rust server hosted on a Windows Server VM, from my dedicated OVH.
My infrastructure is installed under ESXI with pfSense.
TCP / UDP ports 28015/28016 are open on pfsense, in the Windows firewall and on the OVH mitigation game. The server can be accessed by the IP address with the client.connect command, but it is not displayed in the community list.
I have tried reinstalling steamcmd and the rust server several times, but it doesn't change anything.
Do you know how to solve this problem?
Thank you in advance.
Rust does not appear in the community list (OVH dedicated server on Windows).
If you search this forum you will see a hundred posts just like this, people ask this almost on a daily basis. There is no definitive answer, the server list is flakey. If you want to go on a wild goose chase take a look at some of the many suggestions made here.
You have to have at least 1 person online for it to show up in the list. Most recent rust updates f*cked the game up good. Laggyness due to the trains and servers not showing up in the list for half the people.
Thank you for your answers.
I have already searched the forum posts, but I haven't found an answer that solves my problem.
It is possible that the update is the reason. But even by activating the display of empty servers, it does not appear. It also does not appear on battlemetrics.
So I can't decide if the problem is with my Dedicated Server or Rust. Maybe steam can't communicate properly with my VMs to list my server.
Is not just you, I created multiply servers on different IP's on my dedi and none of them showed either in game or battlemetrics. I used IP's from different countries as well :/ .... not good. I am using linux though.SalikokoThank you for your answers.

Goldie, your server does not showing in game as it is IP banned by faecepunch so most likely it will not show on list nomore.GoldieYou have to have at least 1 person online for it to show up in the list. Have you recently created your servers?
I tried to fix the problem again all afternoon, by changing the port, modifying the bach script, reinstalling rust, modifying variables, etc. But the problem persists. I really think the last update impacts sending A2S requests for server validation on in-game linsting.
If you find a solution, let me know. For now I'm trying to stay connected to the server to see if that fixes the problem.

No I did not find solution and I dont think anything from stuff you just said will work. Being connected to the server? Not sure never tried it and also never heard of it, yes I created them, kept online 24h and they did not show on list. What is your IP? Did you check if your server IP is banned?

Yeah this is not good sollution but still something because sorry if sounds rude but everyone just says Let's open server why not? and server list is flooded with 15k servers and like 10k+ empty... If so by default hiding empty servers fix small part of the problem but you can still show them too... Also they must make so you can't see servers from other part of the world probab;y or idk so more servers close near you can appear and if you searhc to fatch servers instantly no matter where the server is because you search it and there are no hunderd results but for now we gonna stay fucked up.

I finally found the origin of the problem. The PFSense gateway has been incorrectly configured. After modification, everything works perfectly.
Do you have an OVH server? If this is the case, I can give you the approach to follow to solve this problem.
Yes I do and it would be great. ThanksSalikokoI finally found the origin of the problem. The PFSense gateway has been incorrectly configured. After modification, everything works perfectly.

Here are the instructions to follow if you use a virtualization service with IP Failover on your VMs without pfSense : https://docs.ovh.com/us/en/dedicated/network-bridging/
If you are using pfsense, you must define a gateway in the shell.
Here is the procedure to follow (sorry, this is a French site) : https://www.it-connect.fr/pfsense-2-4-3-ip-failover-sur-un-esxi-chez-ovh/
