When I try to display Chinese in WelcomeMessages, it comes out to be question marks. Could somebody please help me? Thank you!
Chinese characters showing as question marks in chat
Rust doesn't support those characters that I am aware of, but you could try saving as UTF-8.
Thanks for the quick reply Wulf. I am kinda new, may I ask how could I do that? Just google how to save UTF-8 and paste it into the text file? or save the text file to .UTF-8?
You'd need to use an editor where it has an option to change the encoding. Notepad++ supports this.
Thanks for the reply. I tried Notepad ++, changed encoding to UTF-8, and other ones, and then saved it. However, it still comes out to be question marks. I do know you can type Chinese in game chat, but somehow it doesn't work with the plugin. So confused. Is there possibly another way?

Also, I found out no matter what encoding I saved it to be in Notepad++, the messages all comes out to be the same, like ???a?????????, the a is always at the same spot, so I am also wondering if it is supposed to be like this?

Hello Wulf. I solved the problem. Somehow, although I saved it in UTF-8, and reloaded the plugin, it wasn't really reloaded. I found it out after I modified the context and it still showed exactly the same thing. Dope!

So can you use this trick to use other symbols except for chinese ones? Like emoticons such as skulls etc? Because a while ago they removed the possibility to have these in chat
Chinese displaye need utf-8. Without BOM.

No, some symbols simply do not exist anymore l in the library they use.GoldieSo can you use this trick to use other symbols except for chinese ones? Like emoticons such as skulls etc? Because a while ago they removed the possibility to have these in chat
The issue is that there are two main character glyphs.... in Chinese.
1 Real Chinese glyphs.... as in tens of hundreds of years old...
2. Commie glyphs , as in supposidly implemented during the great leap forward by Mr Mao.
Rust uses "Commie glyphs", as a result it cannot display real "Traditional Chinese charcters"
and infact redefines MANY of the words meanings....
It's actually being racist, since it prevents open/ free discussion & communication by Taiwanese....
