Was there a server restart since you left the car there? Are there plugins on the server that allow spawning additional cars? If so, it's probably population limit enforcement which deletes extra cars on server startup (deletes the most recently spawned cars first). You can disable it with a plugin like https://umod.org/plugins/disable-pop-limit-enforcement.

Also, was the car lift continuously powered the whole time you were away? If the car lift loses power, it will no longer prevent the car from decaying.
