Are you using the Loading Messages plugin? If so, please try without and update.

I have had this problem when the connection is lost or bad from me to the server. Not so much now my internet speed has been upgraded (NBN)  but can still lose the connection when the carrier (Optus) divert the signal through cloudflare and it  gets lost around HongKong, which is funny as I am in Sydney and so is the Server. I usually restart my pc/modem as well as the server to see if it clears up the problem.

LoadingMessages by CosaNostra had an update. I was getting the same problem, and checked if any of my plugins needed updating, sure enough LoadingMessages had an update. After updating, my problem was immeditately fixed. Hope this helps, any problems let me know.
