Can't use oxide.grant commandNot An Issue

Hey there,

I am attempting to setup betterchat on my server but am running into a few issues. Any help is greatly appreciated!

I can not seem to get the oxide.grant <user or group> <name or steam id> command to work anywhere making me unable to use /chat.

Also the time stamps are shooting off into milliseconds and I am unsure of how to cap to to just minutes.

Thanks again!

You would need to be auth level 2 in Rust in order to use the oxide.grant command in-game, otherwise you can use the local server console or RCON.
Sorry I am new to this, what do you mean by auth level 2? Is there any way I can do that or is that a dev thing. I need to figure out how to use RCON then since my host does not seem to have a built in console. Do you know about the time issue?

So I see that its the tier of levels, I thought I would be auth 2 as I started the server and put myself in the user.cfg. Figured that would give me access to everything I needed but seems to be more of a pain than I had anticipated.
I'm not sure what times you are referring to.

For auth levels, Rust has 0, 1, and 2. To add yourself as auth level 2, you'd use the "ownerid STEAMID" command via RCON or by adding that with your Steam ID to the users.cfg file. If adding while the server is running, you'd need to run the readcfg command via RCON to load it, else shutdown the server and make the change then.
Hey sorry bud, been hectic trying to get my server up. I thought 0 was the highest rank. Can i pm you my BetterChat grouping and see what I might be missing? Thanks a ton!
I'm not that familiar with Better Chat, so I would suggest posting under its support section if you don't see an existing thread with the same issue.
