Adding permissions to an already finished scriptSolved

Hi everyone.

I'd like to know if it's possible to add permissions to any of the following scripts:

https://umod.org/plugins/simple-pvp-stats
https://umod.org/plugins/player-ranks

or, another similar script. As I don't wish to have the default group to be able to use them. (only for admins/mods for example)

Does this mean a lot of rewriting the entire script, or just adding a few lines that check permissions?

btw, if this isn't okay to do (towards the authors), I'll remove this thread!

Adding permissions is very simple and would take mere minutes.

However, because there are no licenses on the provided plugins, I am unsure about the legality of the modifications.

I'd suggest asking the original author before seeking out someone else to add what you are wanting.

Thx for the answers.

Hence the last line, as I didn't see any legal documents on any of em. I don't know the terms and agreements for the plugins here at umod.

Generally modifying for personal use isn't minded, though selling or submitting someone else's work would be.

Hi,
PlayerRanks already has a permission, and an option to disable chat command use for players.
The reason is as you describe : To allow admin/mods (people with the permission only) to have chat command access, for adjusting settings etc.
