Unless I'm missing something, I am unable to view the map in hardcore mode as admin. Is there a way to do this? Or does someone have the time and be willing to, assuming it's possible, create a plugin for this? Asking for a friend. It's me, I'm the friend. Thanks.

Maps in HardMode are disapplied and the size/seed are encrypted. release the encryption method defeats the idea of Hardmode. I would say if you cant live without a map, you will need to switch back to regualr mode

I understand that. I meant strictly for admin  purposes only, not players. Players experience hardcore mode, admin are able to bypass. I use things like map teleport to jump to sections of the map quickly to monitor player activity at monuments, etc. It would be useful for admin/mods running a hardcore rust server to be able to see the map and see all chat regardless of proximity. Obviously, I can just up my noclip speed to shoot around faster but I still think admin should be able to bypass hardcore mode to better monitor players.

It literally doesn't. Please stop responding if you can't provide relevant information. If anyone else has any advice I'd appreciate it. It's not a huge deal... I was just curious if it was possible.

Just to say i agree with you,   not all admins are players too,   maybe a plugin like vanish but that has been modified to teleports you to a players name from an admin list,  that way you dont need the map and have admin stash traps intergrated.  if all umod ad,im plugins are prevented from working on the harccore mode then cheating will be rife, as hackers will always find a way to bypass the games code.

( hackers act maliciously and damage the community,  modders benefit the community )

Yes, exactly! I appreciate the support, thanks. I'm sure someone will come up with something eventually that only benefits admin and not cheaters.

Yep, any player can do this on any server hardcore or not.

It truly defeats the purpose of "hiding" the map if players can just pull up the map seed 😥

a craftable compass and map with fow would be fantastic additions to hardcore

I'm not sure if you can get a map, but depending on how you wish to use the map, there could be another way around to acheive it. 

Are you looking to teleport to monuments and players only, or how specifically do you want to use the map as an admin?

Ideally I would want it to function exactly as it does in vanilla, a hotkey that brings up an ingame ui that is compatible with popular map plugins. I am not sure hardcore is even going to stay an option much longer so I get the lack of motivation in pursuit of this request.
