i'd love to have a fog of war plug in option where players have to explore the map to reveal the map

That was in the original released game but FP removed it a long time ago

Well it still can work, but map was not really designed for something like that, so there are no normal ways.  FOG of war was working but still not in the best way...

And when it was working it was for a static map shape . now there are hundreds + as well as custom maps so unless someone really feels the need to bring out a plugin to cater for every map i dont see it coming.

Well actually i know one way how you can make fog of war, but as global. You can replace G map image for everyone, i am not sure if we can do player-per-player replacement, but maybe that can work and then something REALLY good for fog of war can work out

i'd also be cool if you can share your map(data) with team mates

Yeah, I remember the old good times when you were able to draw on the maps and also you had to create a map in order to see it with G... I do not expect anything from this thread like the original poster but still, wonder where all this stuff will end and what can be done from curiosity... Can the players again draw on the map? This would be great... about the fog of war I guess won't be able to be implemented like the old vanilla way and will feel shit like not naturally from the game if its somehow done... I hope  I am wrong...
