Shop using WooCommerce (universal)

Hi,

After reading some posts in this forum and from other sources. I saw that many users here rely on third parties for there servers VIP shop/store. But some problems may happen when we rely on such third parties services that we do not have control over.

Some issues that I have seen from some third parties VIP shop/store are:

  1. Most do not charge taxes or they don't charge the right amount of tax. Seeing as most don't charge the tax based on where the main admin is doing business from (yea most of us should be paying taxes depending on where we are running our gaming business.) Some third parties will take a cut to pay their own tax but not yours.

  2. Most will not give information such as the addresses of our donators/customers, which is sometimes required to handle the taxes of the donations legally in some countries. Some countries require us to keep donations information on file for up to 5 years.

  3. Some third parties that we rely on may just not respond to our support tickets.

  4. Some decide to end there hosting/business.

  5. Some third parties even disappear without a warning.

This is why I think it would be good to have an opensource plugin for Oxide that would work with Woocomers API (Woocommerce is a free and open-source eCommerce plugin for WordPress.). Most of us here rely on our gamers on our servers for some support to keep servers up and running. This kind of plugin would give back some control to the users of Oxide when it comes too VIP stores.

It would be nice to have a plugin that would work for all the games Oxide supports. The plugin could even be on https://github.com/ where everyone could participate in the code. Having such a plugin would let us be more in control over the services we provide to our players on our servers.

If some of you are interested in such a plugin please leave a comment here for programmes to see that there is a demand for this.

hellpress? ohh hell no! you can rather put your database on the streets if you want to make such a thing.

I'm a developer when it comes to WordPress CMS installations, translations and such and creating something like that would be dangerous. If you would like to sell VIP packages, I rather choose something else then selling content trough a WordPress cms system.

for my own website, I run WordPress. Its a hell on a stick press in my opinion. WordPress should only be used for information and educational purposes. To protect my website, i have 4 plugins to prevent scammers, hackers and such.. 4 plugins.. bit overpowered but the scammers will find their way.

if you REALLY want to use a WordPress CMS installation, i recommend using

  • Wordfence ( premium as free won't help much and your admins have a free 2 auth way trough mobile )
  • Stop spammers ( looks a bit odd, but does good work as a free plugin )
  • A plugin that alters the login page link, contact page link and hides your email addresses for data farmers
  • Use a dedicated server instead of shared hosting, recommend using PLESK as a base for WordPress installations, Plesk is designed for it.
  • Compress files with Gzip, it saves your WordPress speed a whopping 40%

In conclusion, you would be better off with a Joomla install than a WordPress install. However, it's just my opinion on how I see WordPress. the end results are still yours to pick. Good luck!
