as the title says, is there actually an automatic plugin installer for servers? I have on my dedicated server node this wonderful icon, but it doenst show much once clicked on it. Not sure if this could be their end issue, an issue on my end or an issue with the API connection? 

We don't really provide an API, just a JSON feed and just downloads. If your host is having an issue with populating it, I'd suggest contacting them.

There will be an extension though for uMod once it is available to handle installing, updating, and managing.
