Is there a way to add text outline or shadow (to make it easier to read).

For example white text with a black outline; like the compass text.

Not in the current version. This feature is planned for version 2.0

I managed to include this in the 1.0.7 update today. This will be a global setting for all panels. You can find it in the MagicPanel.json "Text Outline Settings"
