Radio silence on plugin support, what up with that?Solved

To be Frank it's been months since I have received and answer for any question, request or something that strange up doesn't work. No matter what plug-in or dev. Don't know what's up with that?

I do get that it's free and all, but no answer at all...

I believe that most server owners will be more then happy to pay a subscription on umod (9€ Or something) to support the devs and the site in return for some support or an answer. It's kinda frustrating to have a plug-in ones server is depending on to be broken or malfunctioning and when asking for help you get radio silence.

Not mad, but sad about the current stat

Let me know that you think?

Unfortunately we can't really support every plugin ourselves, as many of which staff isn't personally familiar with all of them and have limited time.

Mosr developers here have other priorities in life as well, so they can't necessarily dedicate a lot of time to support as much as server owners may like, even if they were paid. I'm sure developers would appreciate any donations, and that may encourage them to spend more time working on plugins, but there isn't a guarantee there.

I did notice that a couple of the plugins you commented on have developers with a ton on their plate. I did poke a couple that are maintained by team members, so hopefully they can help you out time permitting.

I 100% respect that, And ofc the dev have a life outsite the plugins.
And I don't exspect them to awnser every question. As some of them are pretty self explanatory.

The frustrating part for me is, when I make a ticket on a plugin that have a feature that strat up don't work, or the plugin in it self not working and actually breaks or crashes the server.

Its just a sad situation when a plugin you build your server around goes banna, and you desperately need help, but you get nothing.
Would be nice to have a dev say I see you there, and I will look in to it as soon as I have the time.
It didn't used to be this way, when I started in all this years back

Whould a possible solution be to merge plugins together, so two or more DEVS can support and code.
As an example

4 DEVS have the support and coding of the loot table plugins as there are "some what the same thing"
Or maybe have them in teams on the plugins, so when a question is asked. There are more ppl the anwser?

I've used umod plugin s for over 6 years now and never had this issue.

Not trying to sound mean, but learn how to work your server bud.

Keep in mind that you are opening a thread, not a ticket. Developers aren't required to support their plugins, just encouraged to; they aren't paid to do so and they are releasing something for free.

Many server owners tend to have their own developer on hand or contract someone for any sort of emergency work, as you can't always expect someone to be available to support the plugin on demand.

Developers working together can be challenging, especially when each have their own way of doing things or their own style. It's unlikely that you'll have a lot of teams of developerse on a single plugin, but you may have some that have collaborators or contributors here and there.

A little off topic but, that is noted

I have actually had this problem , one plugin took 3 years to get fixed and that was because someone else fixed it, The only response i got was a shortened version of Wulfs remark above, The only recourse you have is to sit back and wait for it to be fixed and try to work around the problem or try to find something that does a similar job,
it is especially difficult now for everyone and plugins are way back in the queue when RL has so many challenges right now.
