There are buttons for it and it uses markdown not this old bbcode.

Old or not, it would still be handy since 99% of all forums use it and thats what people are used to.

Also the buttons dont work when you select the text and press the button, you will go to a new page/form which shows empty

The editor here does not use BBCode. The forums use HTML, plugin descriptions and Docs use Markdown.
