Is there a way for me to split say scientist into the different groups e.g Scientist, Heavy Scientist, Tunnel Dweller etc etc so i can modify the reward based on the difficulty of the NPC.

If you look in the oxide/config/GatherRewards.json I break out all the different NPCs out by display name, make any changes to the values in this file then reload the plugin.
