If we exclude VPN adresses, is this possible? Especially in the rust community? Or would it be a really huge coincidence?
Possible for two players to have same IP address?Solved
It's actually a really common thing. Players playing from the same home network would share the same IP in most cases
yes but in this case, the problem is that people who gets banned comes back bragging with a different account but with the same ip adress, saying that they have no idea and are not aware about any other account. And that most likely would be an excuse to get around the ban would not you say?austinv900

and from what i've heard same ip's are shared only by cheap internet providers for some small rural areas where its not profitable for multiple households to have a separated public ip's. And with this said i highly doubt there would be a coincidence that two people from this area, with the same provider would go on a game of rust and especially on my server... what do you think?
Most likely lying but there are scenarios like playing from a VPN, Internet cafè, or game streaming service.
thanks, thats what i needed to hear, but in the first post i said, except VPN's, and the guy already told me, he is not using it.austinv900

Run a whois on the IP it will tell you who owns it
