Launch Site Zone Size With Visible DomesSolved

Following the suggestions from HunterZ and gmkael on page two as a base to start from they kind of come close to decent boundaries but there appears to be no way to have a dome follow the boundaries. Is this not even possible ? Obviously adding a zone radius is not the solution.

First, I'll mention that Dynamic PVP can now auto-calculate zone geometry based on prevent building colliders. Even if you don't like those exact boundaries, it might be useful as a starting point.

Second, there's no way to make cuboid zones visible to players, because Facepunch has only provided us with visible sphere prefabs.

Finally, as an admin you can view all zones within a configured radius via `/dynpvp show`. For cuboid zones this is accomplished via drawing individual lines for each of the 12 edges.

I really appreciate you posting this. It confirms what I discovered. I did mess with the auto-calculate, which is very cool btw, but as you know, what gets created is a sphere. I think what I will likely do is make a zone around the main buildings only. My current map has Train very close to Launch which is interfering a bit with zone creation. Outstanding work and thanks much

No, it should auto discover a cuboid geometry for Launch Site, because that's the shape of its prevent building collider. If you're getting a sphere zone from the auto geometry feature for Launch Site then I'd be interested in knowing what map you're using so I can try to replicate.

Jeepers, my sincere apologies for taking you on a wild goose chase with a senior's brain fart. It definitely creates the cuboid. I have been messing around so much I just got myself confused

Merged post

and now have myself more confused and hope you can help. I want to create a cuboid around only the main buildings at Launch but always wind up with the center being in the worng location and I can't see what I am missing/doing worng.

I would start with the auto geometry, then make it much smaller, then change the zone transform x and z values until you've got it centered where you want, then revisit the size values. It's going to be an iterative process.

I really appreciate you hanging with me on this. I recognize the iterativve process but have been struggling to move the center to where I need it. Back to the drawing board. Thanks again !

`/dynpvp show` should be your friend here, as its axis drawing should show whether you need to add or subtract on the x and z coordinates to move towards the center that you want.

Note that monuments are randomly rotated, so the coordinate system is not related to the world one.

You are so very appreciated. I managed to get things sorted pretty well yesterday mostly because I previously missed the information about the "transform" options.

Nice! Going to mark this as solved, but feel free to post any follow up questions and I will still read them.
