we have been using the extension for the better part of 3 years and for the most part worked flawlessly, we have had to disable it from our servers due to consistent packet loss:

This extension has been reported for having performance issues that can cause your server to perform below the standard and/or crash your server randomly. If you're having issues with performance or crashing randomly, try uninstalling it.

we will have to disable use until a new version fixes these issues.

Works fine for me, and a ton of other people. Instead of just making baseless claims, maybe look into why. There's a BIG difference between 2.0.0, 2.0.1 and 2.0.2. Plugins also need to be specifically updated for the proper extension version.
