i cannot for the life of me get this to work for me. the edit button to be exact, does not appear. this is custom monuemtn/town i placed in rust edit.

You will need to troubleshoot with Monument Finder. "Cant get it to work" tells me very little. Elaborate on precisely what troubleshooting you have done, and I can provide further suggestions.

You need a monument marker.

i use colored monument markers on rust edit. does this matter?

That's fine.

no its not. i just tested. if i use colored monument markers it wont be detected by monument finder. 

People have gotten it working before. It works as long as you include the color markers in the config (done automatically if you use mf closest config).

DM me the map and I can test it. If there is any issue with the plugin, I can use that as a test case to improve the plugin.

If it can help...
Something I had to do on the map we are currently running, was to enlarge the bouding box in Monument Finder.
Indeed, the bounding box was too small and didn't cover/include some of the vending machines.
