when copying a base with wiring for turrets it is not pasting wiring.  when you try to rewire you have to clear the previous wiring but it is not powering turrets correctly.

I think it would be cool if the wiring was copied, too. My generator, switches, and turrets pasted in; just not the wiring.

Do we need to have the Electricity add on in Fortify to do this?

You don't need the electric upgrade to import or export json files with wires. You will need it to add/edit wires in Fortify.

In Rust, without using Fortify: when I build a base and wire up some turrets, then copy it; it doesn't paste in the wires.

ferg, are you able to copy stuff made and wired in Rust and then paste it in with the wiring still there?

I was until the last Rust update. When pasting, the wires are offset in the world now because of some wire change facepunch did. This is the case with any wired device, not just turrets.

Given all the updates to turrets and sams, it would be great if wires worked. In many cases, it breaks the base design.
