Hey everyone,
I started to use Better Chat on my server. However, I've got a problem I just can't solve.
I set up Better Chat like instructed. I uploaded the mod file to my server, restarted it, went ingame, gave myself the permission to use the /chat commands and added the groups "admins" and "mods" - "default" was the only group that existed from the getgo.
That all went pretty well, but something odd happend.
First of all, the mod automatically put me in the admin group. MAYBE because my Steam ID is in the users.cfg file from the server, to make me the owner - I don't know.
But when I joined the server with another test account - it also was put automatically in the admin group.
I wasn't able to test this with another player from a different location. Maybe it's because of the same IP - i don't know. All I know is, that this test account was once marked as owner in the users.cfg file, but not anymore.
Has anyone any idea how this could happen?
New players in wrong groupSolved
The default group handling is provided by Oxide, not this plugin. Any player set as owner is added to the admin group, and all players are added to the default group.
So I guess my test account was added to this group, because it once was an admin?
You would either have had that account as owner at one point and was added to that group or are still set as an owner.DoodsnScoopsSo I guess my test account was added to this group, because it once was an admin?
No, it is not an owner anymore, but it once was. So I guess that's why it was in that group.
Thx
Right, which you can remove yourself from if you'd like.
