it shows every rank someone has, and when someone leaves it gives ranks back (owners continually get default and admin after removing themselves from it)

it can only show what you have set up ! , I use player ranks by ankawi and it shows either no rank (just the player name) or the rank the player has attained, it does not show "default" or "admin" or "vip" because i have set them as "hidden unless primary".
The plugin does not create ranks it only uses the ranks you create or set to be shown.

The default group all players have, it has nothing to do with this plugin. If you want to not show both tags, see the existing threads about this and the HideIfNotPrimary setting.

i just changed it to hiddenifnotprimary true, then i tested it and it didnt work. i am attempting to restart my server right now and see if that helps

Ok me restarting the server worked, ty for letting me know of the HiddenIfNotPrimary function

You'd need to reload the plugin after any changes to the config file; same applies to other plugins.
