Not showing amount of rows per permissionNot An Issue

For some reason the permissions won't work. i have different groups with different size backpacks, i just added a vip group and gave it permission to use and the permission for 7 rows, but it only gives 5 like it is set to in the config. am i doing something wrong?

{
"Drop on Death (true/false)": true,
"Erase on Death (true/false)": false,
"Use Blacklist (true/false)": false,
"Clear Backpacks on Map-Wipe (true/false)": true,
"Only Save Backpacks on Server-Save (true/false)": false,
"Blacklisted Items (Item Shortnames)": [],
"Backpack Size (1-7 Rows)": 5
}

If you revoke both the use and use.7 permissions for that group, can you still open the backpack? If so, then you are probably getting the permissions from another group. I'm pretty sure this plugin will assign the largest size if you have multiple permissions, so that alone probably doesn't explain it. However, it could if you are either not in the new group, or if there is something wrong with the new group (someone experienced this before with another plugin).

i tried to revoke both, then it said i didnt have permission to use backpack, just noticed that my default group only have 4 rows as i set the perms to be. But even when i remove myself from all groups exept owner (all perms are set to Revoked here) and default (that has use and use.4 granted) i can use all 7 rows

Also, i set all groups in better chat to have a higher priority if the group have more rows granted just to make sure that the perms would be used from the group with the highest priority

btw, i did not have this problem before the new rust update. The only thing i have done was creating a new group in better chat and give it use and use.7 permission. i have 2 groups that have use.7 granted, i don't suppose that should be a problem?
The only method supported is via Oxide commands, not Better Chat commands or a GUI manager. I would suggest trying with the Oxide-provided commands to make sure the players have the intended permissions, and go from there. Better Chat also does not provide any grouping or permissions, it simply provides custom commands and title handling for chat based on the group and permission systems in Oxide.
I have tried to use the oxide commands with no luck. i have tried to revoke the permission, and when i try to grant it again it says that the permissions is allready granted. its like it wont revoke the perm

i just unloaded all plugins on my server and loaded Backpacks. tried to grant a permission. i keeps saying the permission have been granted when its supposed to say it is allready granted.
o.grant user hardst backpacks.use.6

Player 'HardStyle-Soul (76561198060405949)' granted permission 'backpacks.use.6'

@Wulf What do you recommend i do?  WhiteThunder helped me debug the issue and said that it had nothing to do with the plugin and it might be on oxides end.
When you type /o.revoke user hardst backpacks..use.6 do you get a confirmation message that the permission has been revoked ?
What size did you grant to the default group ?  which will give that size to anyone in any group

it revokes the perm but as you see, when i grant it again it keeps granting the perm even tho i have it

The default backpack size is set to 4 and all other groups have higher amount of rows

Your problem seems to be the similarity in the names, it does revoke the permission for "Hardstyle-Soul" but its supposed to be revoking the permission for "hard" . Try granting the permissions to the <steam id> instead of the name and see if that works, do the same for revoking the permission.
all my permissions (except for admin) are granted to groups (for player ranks) and not to individual players.
They reach a certain rank (hours played) and get the permissions,

Same thing happens if i do it with steamid :/

also my permissions is set to groups and not individual players. and everything worked like it should just before the latest rust update.

So i know that it should work, but it simply won't work now.

Would really want this to get fixed soon as i have to give all groups the same amount of backpack space
- The default backpack rows in my config is 3
- There is a group which has permission backpacks.use.4

Whenever a user gets put into the permissiongroup which has backpacks.use.4 permission he still only has access to 3 rows

You will have to reload the plugin for it to work which is a fundamental design flaw because other plugins have the permissions correctly synced with the usergroup (such as colourednames, kits, entitylimit, loadout, etc).

the player will keep the permission untill the server restarts which is not a good idea for any timed permission system

It would be a fundamental design flaw if your accesscard gets revoked but you can still open all doors untill the next morning when whatever building you are in closes and opens up again

Hoping this plugin gets updated so the permissions are synced correctly. Maybe the plugins I gave as example that do this the right way could be used as example when you are not sure how to do it. But I feel these permissions should be synced correctly otherwise it's too easy to abuse (people get a small rank but use it for long)
HardStyle was able to resolve his issue with the help of some folks on Discord. It had nothing to do with the plugin.

@Goldie The Backpacks plugin detects permissions being granted or revoked to users or groups and updates backpack capacity instantly without requiring a plugin reload. If that is not working for you are, please open a new thread to track the issue.

The thread was merged here as it appeared to be related.

i could not get the permissions to work even when reloading the plugin, but my sollution was to delete all backpack and betterchat files, delete all groups and make them again from scratch. FYI Betterchat groups are oxide groups (was told that by several devs) :)

I did make a new thread but as wulf said it was merged here
