I've made a simple plugin that starts the new Easter event on a timer. There's no config but you can edit the timer in the plugin's main class.
Alternatively, you can wait for an update which shouldn't be too much longer.

Im not seeing an option for the easter egg event in my config , just the xmasevent. Did it get removed?

Never Mind I needed to blow away my current config file and reload the plugin and now it added Easter into the config
I need to revist the code to automatically update the config, for now when a new event is added you do need to drop and recreate the config.
