Been thinking of adding it to deal with all the scripts/norecoil claims but i'm a bit skeptical about an anti-cheat plugin because it would seem like something like this is including within EAC. So how trustworthy is this plugin and could it be the reason for possible false bans etc?

so yes, but this plugin has been given a bit of false positive lately, so i did not ban the player that got flagged... they may just be good, and its only a f ew violations
like i said, even I tested it and kept getting them with m249/holosight, even aimbot violations

I ignored report..... and player did get game ban 2h later... so he actually was cheating.... going to start ban players who get detected by arkan.

i've been using this for quite some time and it's safe to say it is about 90% accurate
2 more weeks of using this and in my opinion it's about 99% accurate. False positives are extremely rare. I have set the minimum percentages to 78%

1) Set minimum percentages of all rifles to 78.0 (percent)
2) Differentiate between a single no recoil report for a single person once, or multiple reports for a single person in a short time
3) When getting any no recoil report check someone's profile
Then take into account the type of profile they have:
- Do they have VAC-ban or Game-ban history? (you should auto-ban everyone with this anyway let alone if it's also the following:)
- Is their profile private?
- Are they level 1, level 2 or level 3?
- Do they only have 1 or 2 games?
- Are they on steam for less than 1 or 2 years?
Then they cheat 100%
Do they have a respectible Steam Profile?
- No VAC-ban or game-ban history
- Public steam profile
- High steam level
- Alot of hours in Rust
- Big friends list also all with high levels
- Plenty of Steam games (50+)
Then it's probably a false positive if you only see a single report once
If you follow these guidelines, then it is safe to say it's about 99% trustable
The plugin is actually pretty accurate, you just need to use it correctly. My suggestions are as follows, and this comes from a competitive server with PVP gods.
No Recoil:
1. LR300 usually gets triggered most, ignore anything below 95% probability, this is a super easy gun.
2. M249, also an easy recoil to learn, most people think it's impossible due to the violent recoil upwards, however this pattern is mainly dragging down. Ignore all violations under 90%, ban all above 95%
3. AK, the gun most scripters use. same as above, have legitimate players getting 89%. If players start getting consistent violations, maybe spectate them, again, 95% and above is impossible.
4. Last guns which are problematic, is the handguns. When a person is getting multiple headshots from a P2 from around 250m, you know he is dodge, and needs a ban.
5. If the person isn't standing and shooting, but rather running, then investigate anything above 75-80%.
Aimbots:
1. I myself have also gotten these, sometimes it's due to a bullet ricochet related to a chinook and scientists, guys that get these def needs to be investigated for peace of mind, however if they get multiple, ban them.
The points @Goldie are also very important to keep in mind. a steam profile with low hours in game, and/or low level should also be investigated. I have noticed that cheats/hackers rather buy new accounts these days vs. family share.
Keep in mind these no recoil scripts lately are pretty advancce, where it will reduce recoil, or even toggle recoil only when needed.

yep indeed, i dont use cheat, been banned on 2 servers, and all i use, was m249... it has barely any recoil, and no recoil pattern like ak... and they werent like long shot kills, all on large/cargo etc... i felt kinda sad, they wouldnt tell mew my % either, and said i was getting plenty of aimbot violation..... i asked them if they were runing latest version of arkan, but they werent...
anyways im on my server, i do get some but not much
and for the other people, they get a lot of lr300 with 8x
and m249, rarely get, aks, had some guy though, poped 125 violation in 1 hour with ak, always same percentage 95%
i banned him, but he said im legit, i will shoot you live in god mode... and record my hand movement... i still had suspicion, that was 8x AK 200 meters

Situations like these (AK) where they claim they are legit, we ask for handcams on our aimtrain server, where we can matchup arkan to arkan violations and also see their hand pattern. Most of the time the people refuse to send handcams or their handcams are suddenly horrible aim.
yeah i did that handcam :) he did give us lvie handcam, and it felt like it was matching... but still, thats insane accuracy
and with m249 he pulled only 73%... lol, bit weird hes ak god but cant get m249 over 90% when its just pull down with barely any recoil

Four years later ...
Running Arkan, even after adjust some settings does give false positives. Mostly Aimbot, on Cargo Ship and the plugin, Tugboat Pirates. I has nearly 1,000 meters of travel from the start and finish coordinates. I hooked this to my Discord so I could keep an eye on players, but I'm going to have to ignore anything that travels on water. I run a PvE server, so cheating isn't a thing here really, but I was surprised on how quickly I got a false read.
For recoil, after setting it to 78%, I still a few issues. But, in the past four years, Facepunch has reworked recoil so much, that It's understandable ... going to raise it to 85% ... even I can hit three shots with an M2 in the head with a muzzle break on at a distance, and I'm not even that good.
Hope someone sees this as relevant.
