Hi All,

I am trying to add an item called graphics card on my rust server my issue is i cant figure out how to get the inventory icon to be a graphics card. i have tried uploading a rug skin to the workshop where i changed the icons in my temp file as it uploaded it so in the steamworkshop it appears as a graphics card but in game when i assign the skin id to the rug in game the inventory icon is the standard rug. Can someone please tell me how to assign an item a custom inventory icon. If i need to code a plugin to do this i know C#

To clarify: You made a custom skin in attempts to modify an item's thumbnail image that appears in one's inventory? Sort of like how the skinned items have their own skin thumbnail image in this link?

I have also noticed that when you dwnload the workshop item the icons are the original rug icons the same ones that appear in game.

Just a guess, but maybe the image dimensions need to be something specific like 256x256 or something.

i looked at the dimensions for standard rust icons and changed them and reuploaded but it still didnt work. Any other ideas?

How are you applying the skin? Can you skin other items with this same method succesfully?

I see the regular rug thumbnail when I use your workshop ID. I used Skins by Misticos to test ('cuz I have PlayerSkins).

Your workshop skins aren't loading for me either.

i am applying the skins with misticos' plugin which usually work for skins that i create and upload. the only thing that is different about this is i am adding the icons in temp as they upload not letting them automatically generate from the diffuse file. 

Sweet, Orange is here. I added 2135635939, and 2135440585 to Misticos skins and no dice. I threw 3 other nonapproved workshop skin IDs into the config at the same time and the only one's that don't show are Jack's.

Orange i am using a plugin called item printer that changes the skin id of paper when it is added to a large box however changing the skin Id of paper to 2135440585 yields the same results as skins by misticos

Jack, all your skins work with Orange's mod except for the hat.cap and the rug.bear. Those are also the only ones that aren't on a transparent background, too.

the graphics card skin wont work for me using oranges mod either.

can you link your icon.png and icon_background.png?

@RyanFromRust i just reformatted my pc so i dont actually have them anymore. i can remake them if you want but they were literally an image of a 1080ti pasted into photosop and resized to 512x512 with the background removed.
