Like/dislike for threadsSuggestion

If anything, we'd add "Like", but not "Dislike". We removed the Dislike on the old site for a reason...
I like this because sometimes good things can be lost in mob ignorance. I'm not excluding myself from having such ignorance, at times. :P

@Death a way to show appreciation.  Good.  Thank you.  I will add some arguments for and against.  P...
The only argument for "functional value" I can think of is potentially weighting search results.
@Wulf I don't see it adding much confusion, in fact, I see the opposite. Instead of highlighting for X likes, give the OP the ability to mark a reply as solved and then highlight that post so the answer is easily accessible. Even though support is per-thread you're still going to have offtopic, hijacking and general pollution from back and forth responses.

I'm almost certain you'll already have a [Solved] tag so intergrade that with Mark Solved. If the OP doesn't mark it solved and there's a viable answer a mod can then mark it as such.

That isn’t really the same thing as likes, but a better feature.
I wish I could select Dislike on this thread ;)

I was just thinking that. This thread is a disaster.

I stumbled upon it thinking it would be great to show my support for a developer who I believe was doing a great job.

This is madness...consider my post as an unofficial dislike of this thread lol

The problem with it is the same as was evident on FP forums, you would post an answer that someone didnt like and they would then go back through the threads and give you a negative response to anything you had ever posted even though they would probably have never read it (and before they had in fact joined the site), they would then automatically do the same to any post you submitted regardless of its nature.

What's interesting is I hear YouTube was considering removing the thumbs down so you could only upvote items, not downvote them.

We had a similar issue on oxidemod.org, where people would downvote spam if someone irked them.
