New features

  • Added config option Automatically spawn a vending machine for these NPC shopkeeper prefabs to make it easier to setup NPC vendors. Previously, you had to spawn an invisible vending machine, then spawn the vendor on the same spot. If you are already doing that, don't worry, that approach still works. This is enabled by default for bandit_shopkeeper, boat_shopkeeper, stables_shopkeeper, waterwell_shopkeeper. You may remove some prefabs from the list if you don't want the vending machines.
  • Added maspawngroup delete command which deletes the entire spawn group you are aiming at, not just the spawn point.
  • Added maspawnpoint delete command as an alias for makill when aiming at a spawn point.

Bug fixes

  • Fixed debug text being too large most of the time since Rust changed the default
  • Fix possible NRE in OnEntitySpawned NextTick callback
  • Fix possible NRE in GetClosestAdapterPosition if there was a spawn group with no spawn points due to manual data file edits

New features

  • Reworked the debug display feature (mashow). Now you will only see debug information about one addon at a time, whichever one is closest to your aim direction. Other addons will be displayed with a * as an abbreviation. This significantly helps with screen clutter and client performance when there are many addons. You can fine tune this behavior further in the Debug display settings config section.
  • You can now configure the debug color of each addon type, such as entities, spawn points, and pastes.
  • You can now configure the debug color of specific spawn groups, using the command maspawngroup set color <color>.
  • Replaced the Persist entities while the plugin is unloaded config option with the Save entities between restarts/reloads to preserve their state throughout a wipe section.
  • You can now configure default settings for newly placed addons, under the Addon defaults config section.
  • You can now apply a change to all spawn points in a spawn group at once, using the command maspawnpoint setall <option> <value>.
  • You can now select a profile by running maprofile select while aiming at an addon, to select the profile that the addon belongs to, saving you from typing the name of the profile.
  • Significantly improved the Telekenisis plugin integration. You can now move all types of addons using tls, especially pastes. Pastes will now show a bounding box to help you see where they will be moved to. When moving a paste, it will despawn from the previous position and respawn at the new position.
  • You can now pass additional parameters to CopyPaste via the mapaste command. Similar to how you can run paste <file> autoheight false, you can do mapaste <file> autoheight false.
  • You will now receive a warning in chat/console when running maspawn with an entity prefab that is probably better suited for spawn points (maspawngroup/maspawnpoint).

API improvements

  • Significantly enhanced the Custom Addons API. Existing custom addons should still work, but new ones should leverage the new function signatures. To showcase this, I created a MonumentAddonsSafeZones plugin which allows you to place safe zones at monuments. Custom addons can now be spawned via spawn points as well.
  • Created the Custom Monuments API. This allows plugin developers to register arbitrary objects or entities as monuments, allowing addons to be placed near those objects.

New features

  • Added command mawire which temporarily enhances your currently held wire tool to allow connecting entities placed via maspawn for building puzzles (this was actually introduced last year, and it still has some issues, but calling this out to raise awareness since puzzle capabilities are significantly enhanced this update)
  • Added command mapuzzle which you can use on generator.static entities placed via maspawn to reset the puzzle, customize the puzzle, and even associate spawn groups with the puzzle, to automatically respawn entities when the puzzle resets
  • Added spawn point option PlayerDetectionRadius which determines how far away players need to be for an entity to spawn at the spawn point
  • Added spawn group option PauseScheduleWhileFull which basically causes the respawn timer to reset when the spawn group goes below max population, to avoid situations where loot respawns shortly after loot is taken
  • Added spawn group option RespawnWhenNearestPuzzleResets which determines whether the spawn group will associate with a nearby vanilla puzzle, to automatically respawn entities when that puzzle resets
  • Added command macardlevel <1-3> which sets the access level of a card reader placed via maspawn (1 = green, 2 = blue, 3 = red)
  • Added command maundo which restores the addon most recently removed by the makill command
  • Added command maprofile delete <name> for deleting a profile
  • Added command maskull <name> which sets the name of skull trophies placed via maspawn -- Contributed by m-hynek on GitHub

Improvements

  • Improved logic for electrical entities placed via maspawn, so card readers, buttons, etc. now work correctly, and most entities will automatically generate power when not plugged in, based on the design of the Powerless Electronics plugin
  • The maprofile rename command now automatically deletes the original profile data file after copying it to the new name
  • Door controllers spawned via maspawn will automatically lock the door they pair with, so you aren't limited to only the security door prefabs when making puzzles, and you can even build puzzles using existing vanilla doors
  • You can now disable scheduled respawns for a spawn group by setting RespawnDelayMax to 0, which is useful if you are associating it with puzzles

Bug fixes

  • Fixed issue where the maspawn command would allow you to attempt spawning some prefabs that weren't actually spawnable

  • Hackable crates spawned via spawn points no longer decay. -- Contributed by m-hynek
  • Placing an entity with maspawn with no parameters will automatically apply the skin of your held item, so you don't have to run a separate maskin command. -- Contributed by m-hynek
  • Static telephones placed with maspawn will automatically be named according to the monument they are at. -- Contributed by m-hynek
  • You can now move a spawn point using the Telekinesis plugin, by moving an entity spawned by the spawn point. -- Contributed by m-hynek
  • Placing a deployable BBQ with maspawn will automatically place the static prefab instead.
  • Placing a deployable refinery with maspawn will automatically place the static prefab instead.
  • Spray decals placed with maspawn spray.decal cannot be washed away with water.
  • Added experimental feature for wiring electirical entities at monuments. Just place entities with maspawn, equip a wire tool, run mawire, then start connecting them. This feature has known gaps which I hope to fill in the coming months.
  • NPC vending machines spawned by this plugin and customized via Custom Vending Setup will now have their vending configuration saved in the Monument Addons profile instead of in the Custom Vending Setup data file.
v0.12.0
Oxide
4.4K downloads

New features

  • Added support for Copy Paste v4.1.32. You can now paste buildings at monuments with the mapaste <file> command. That is basically the same as doing paste <file>, but will ensure (1) the building is pasted at all copies of the monument, (2) the building is removed when the profile/plugin is unloaded, (3) the building is pasted again when the profile/plugins reloads.
  • Added StoreCustomVendingSetupSettingsInProfiles: false config option. Setting this to true will start saving vending machine settings in Monument Addons profile data files rather than in Custom Vending Setup data files. This allows you to reposition vending machines without losing their settings. Upon reloading Monument Addons with this feature enabled, all vending machines spawned by this plugin with existing Custom Vending Setup data will automatically have that data migrated to Monument Addons profiles. In the future, this option will be removed, and the behavior will be as if this option were set to true.
  • Added PersistEntitiesAfterUnload: false experimental config option. Setting this to true will start persisting entities in the game world after the plugin has unloaded, rather than removing those entities. This is useful because it avoids losing items inside containers when those containers are despawned/respawned. Note: This option currently only applies to entities spawned via maspawn, not to Pastes, Spawn Groups or other types of addons.
  • Added spawn group flag InitialSpawn which determines whether the spawn group will try to spawn entities as soon as the spawn group is created (i.e., when the profile or plugin loads). This flag will be automatically added to existing spawn groups with the value true for backwards compatibility. Any new spawn groups you create will also automatically have this flag. If you remove this flag from a spawn group, it will not spawn entities until the configured respawn delay has elapsed.
  • Added MonumentsRecycler profile which adds recyclers to Cargo Ship, Oilrigs, Dome and Fishing Villages (same as the Monuments Recycler plugin). To install, run the command mainstall MonumentsRecycler.

Improvements

  • Renamed data file option OnTerrain to SnapToTerrain for clarity. The old name still works for backwards compatibility.
  • Renamed spawn group option DropToGround to SnapToGround for clarity. The old name still works in data files for backwards compatibility.
  • Updated spawn group flag display names to match the commands to improve usability. For example: "Random Rotation" now displays as "RandomRotation".
  • Running the maspawngroup and maspawnpoint commands now work when looking at an entity spawned by a spawn group, instead of saying no spawn group/point found.

Bug fixes

  • Fixed bug where loading a profile that only had Cargo Ship addons would prevent other profiles from loading if there was no Cargo Ship on the map.
  • Fixed bug where paintable entities such as signs would have their sign image(s) leaked when the entities were removed, which was leading to unused records in the sv.files database.

Oxide

New feature: Spawn points

You can now place spawn points at monuments. Spawn points automatically respawn entities on a schedule, so they are great for loot containers, key cards, vehicles and more. Check out the documentation for details.

For inspiration, you can run the mashowvanilla command while aiming at a nearby monument to see how vanilla spawn points are configured. Most of the features used by vanilla spawn points are available via this plugin.

Improvements

  • Building blocks spawned via maspawn now have correct health, no longer decay, no longer take damage, can no longer be demolished or rotated, and can no longer be upgraded by normal players.
  • Running masave on a building block will now save it's current grade.

Bug fixes

  • Fixed an issue where the plugin would fail to compile on server boot if the HumanNPC plugin was present.
  • Fixed an issue where entities spawned via maspawn would become destructible if an NPC was spawned by maspawn and then killed or removed.
v0.10.0
Oxide
676 downloads

New feature: Spawn deployables more easily

  • You can now run maspawn without specifying the entity, to spawn the deployable you are holding.
  • Added DeployableOverrides config section which allows you to override which entity will be spawned by each item when using maspawn.

Bug fixes

  • Fixed a bug where Sign Artist commands would sometimes not be detected after reloading the plugin, which would cause URLs to not be saved in the data file.
  • If you tried to download any of the example profiles in the past 5 days, they would not have installed correctly because I mistakenly pushed updates to them which depended on a future version of the plugin. Installing this update should allow those profiles to be correctly installable now.

Notes

  • This update will also automatically migrate the profile data files in preparation for an upcoming update which will allow placing spawn points for things like loot, NPCs, and vehicles.
v0.9.0

New profiles

Added multiple downloadable profiles. Install with mainstall <name>.

  • OutpostAirwolf - Adds Air Wolf to Outpost, with some ladders for access.
  • FishingVillageAirwolf - Adds Air Wolf to Large Fishing Village and to one of the small Fishing Villages.
  • BarnAirwolf - Adds Air Wolf to Large Barn and Ranch.

New feature: Visual debug info

  • Added command mashow which shows debug info about nearby entities spawned by this plugin. That command optionally accepts a profile name and a duration (in seconds), like mashow OutpostAirwolf 30. Specifying a profile will gray out the debug info about other profiles to make it easier to see which entities belong to that specific profile.
  • Entity debug info is also shown automatically for 60 seconds when using most commands from the plugin. The highlighted profile will also be automatically set in some cases, such as when you install or select a profile.
  • Added DebugDisplayDistance configuration option which allows you to configure how far away you can see debug info.

New feature: Telekinesis integration

  • Monument Addons will automatically detect when you release an entity with Telekinesis, and save its updated position.
  • Entities that have no collider, such as big_wheel or airwolfspawner, can be grabbed with Telekinesis if you aim close enough.

Other features & improvements

  • Added command masave which saves the current position and rotation of the entity you are aiming at. This is useful if you moved the entity with a plugin such as Edit Tool or Uber Tool.
  • Profiles now have an "Author" field to keep track of who created them.
  • Added shorthand command for installing profiles: mainstall <url|name>. Example: mainstall OutpostAirwolf. This works if the profile is located in the plugin's GitHub repository.
  • Installing a profile from the web now prints the profile info as though you ran maprofile describe <profile>.
  • Entities without a collider can now be targeted by aiming nearby (within 2m). Applies to makill, maskin, masetid, masetdir. This is useful for interacting with big_wheel, airwolfspawner, boatspawner and others.
  • The airwolfspawner and boatspawner entities will properly link up with nearby vendors, so they can determine whether the spawn area is occupied.
  • You can now hit the surface of water with maspawn and other commands. This is useful for spawning or killing the boatspawner entity, or for spawning innertubes in pools.

Bug fixes

  • Fixed rotation for gambling wheel entity (big_wheel). Any newly placed wheels will have correct rotation.
v0.8.0

New features

  • You can now persist sign images for Neon Signs and Carvable Pumpkins (requires Sign Artist v1.4.0+). This works just like the other signs, so simply use the sil* commands, and Monument Addons will save the sign information.
  • Added maprofile install <ur> command which allows you to install a profile from a URL. See the documentation for examples.
  • Added maprofile clear <name> command to empty the contents of a profile. One use for this is to clear and then reinstall the TrainStationCCTV profile from URL to benefit from the updates feature in the future.
  • Added a new example profile in the documentation: MonumentLifts, which includes the same car lift positions as the MonumentsLifts plugin. This profile can be installed with a single command which you can find in the documentation.
  • Stability is now disabled, so you can spawn things like walls and floors.
  • The sam_static entity can now be damaged to the point where it becomes temporarily disabled, like the ones at launch site.
  • The paddlingpool and abovegroundpool entities will now automatically be filled with water.
  • You can now edit the rotation angle of entities on multiple axes in the profile data files.

Bug fixes

  • Entities such as cave_lift which immediately spawn child entities, will now properly clean up those child entities when the server shuts down or crashes.

Data file changes

The following data file changes are backwards compatible. No action is needed on your end. Profile data files will be automatically updated the next time you make changes to them via plugin commands.

  • Profiles now have a "Name" property which helps the plugin determine the desired profile name when downloading via URL.
  • Profiles installed via URL will have a "Url" property to record where the profile was installed from. This will be used in future updates to allow updating profiles from the original URL.
  • Installing a profile via URL will create a copy of the profile data file with the _original suffix. Do not edit the _original files. They will be used in the future while updating profiles, to detect customizations you have made, in order to avoid overwriting your customizations.
  • Entities now have an "Id" property with a unique value. These IDs will be used in future updates to allow updating profiles, and to allow storing state for certain entities while the plugin is unloaded.
  • The RotationAngle property has been replaced with RotationAngles to allow rotating entities around multiple axes.

New feature: Profiles

  • Profiles allow you to organize entities into groups.
  • Each profile can be independently enabled or reloaded.
  • Each profile uses a separate data file, allowing you to easily share them.
  • When applying this update, all existing entities in your data file will be automatically moved to the Default profile.
  • Using maspawn <entity> will use the Default profile by default, unless you have another profile selected.
  • An example profile (TrainStationCCTV.json) is available for download in the documentation, which adds CCTVs and computer stations to underground Train Stations.

Improvements

  • Computer stations on Cargo Ship will now find all onboard CCTVs regardless of distance, and will no longer find other nearby CCTVs such as those at underwater labs.
  • NPC vending machines will now spawn with the correct skin if customized with maskin <skin id>.

Future planned profile features

  • Install a profile from a URL via command.
  • Auto update profiles which were installed via URL.
  • In-game UI to view, select and toggle profiles.

I'm also planning to release more example profiles to ease migration from other plugins such as MonumentLifts, MonumentsRecycler and CargoShipCCTV. Let me know if you would like to help with this effort or have any other profiles you would like to share.

v0.6.0
Oxide
404 downloads

Backwards incompatible changes

  • Now requires Monument Finder 3.0 to be installed. No configuration needed except for custom monuments.
  • Removed the IgnoredMonuments, MonumentAliases and MaxDistanceFromMonument config options. Monument Finder now controls all of that and has built-in bounds for all vanilla monuments. If you are using this plugin with a custom monument, you will need to update the config of Monument Finder to specify the monument's bounds.
  • The data file format has changed slightly, but it should be migrated automatically. For example, rotations are no longer backwards, and aliases have been migrated from the old defaults to the ones that Monument Finder now uses. If you have previously customized the aliases, you will need to edit the data file after migration to rename the aliases manually.

New features

  • Now supports all variations of train tunnels, as well as underwater labs. Entities spawned at underwater labs will be associated with individual lab modules rather than the monument itself. See the documentation for more details.
  • Added Sign Artist integration, allowing you to use sil, silt and sili on signs or photo frames spawned by this plugin to persist the image URL, and to update all copies of the sign.
  • Added Entity Scale Manager integration, allowing you to use scale <size> on entities spawned by this plugin to persist the scale, and to apply that scale to all copies of the entity.
  • Added command maskin <skin id> which allows you to update the skin of entities spawned by this plugin. This persists the skin to the data file and applies the skin to all copies of the entity.
  • Added commands masetid and masetdir which allow you to configure CCTV cameras. See the documentation for more details on how to set up CCTV cameras and static computer stations.

Improvements

  • Incorporated Big Wheel Spawn Fix, so that running maspawn big_wheel will spawn the wheel upright. Also added a section to the documentation which explains how to set up a betting wheel with seats and terminals.
  • Spawning, despawning or updating entities (entity scale, skin id, CCTV ID, CCTV direction) now spreads out the work over multiple frames to avoid lag spikes.
